Former Light Heavyweight UFC Champion Tito Ortiz to Visit Troops on USO Tour to Persian Gulf
ARLINGTON, Va. – Mixed martial arts champion Tito Ortiz, also known as “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy,” and Justin McCully, a member of Ortiz’ Team Punishment fight camp, will soon kick off their USO/Multi National Corps - Iraq entertainment tour with a trip to the Washington Metropolitan area. Ortiz and McCully will visit with wounded service members at both the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC and the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. LOS ANGELES – (June 26, 2007) – Mixed martial arts fighter Tito Ortiz will travel to the Persian Gulf this summer to meet with U.S. troops on duty there under the sponsorship of the USO.
The trip is the latest show of support for the troops by Ortiz, former Light-Heavyweight champion in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) circuit who will fight a highly promoted bout with Rashad Evans on July 7th at the Arco Arena in California (UFC® 73: Stacked).
